Amith Ramkissoon is a multi-disciplined design draughtsman and Project Management Professional (PMP, PMI No. 3979136) with over 23 years of experience in mechanical engineering and industrial sectors. He specializes in the petrochemical, sugar, paper, and manufacturing industries, bringing a wealth of knowledge and versatility to his work. His expertise spans mechanical equipment design, P&IDs, isometrics, structural drawings, 3D scanning, and factory layout. Amith has extensive experience managing the entire project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning.

Throughout his career, Amith has worked closely with professional mechanical and process engineers, ensuring the successful completion of complex projects. This collaboration has deepened his understanding of engineering principles and the integration of various disciplines to deliver optimal results. He has had the privilege of working with the country's largest sugar producer, gaining valuable insights into the sugar-making process. This experience has been instrumental in designing and implementing equipment tailored to the unique challenges of the sugar industry, particularly in sugar mill operations.

Additionally, Amith’s work with the largest equipment manufacturer and sheet metal fabricator in KwaZulu-Natal has provided him with hands-on knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes. This experience enables him to bridge the gap between design and practical implementation, ensuring smooth integration into manufacturing environments. He has also managed one of the largest drawing offices in KwaZulu-Natal, overseeing the production of multi-disciplinary technical drawings while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and quality.

 

Amith’s project management expertise spans all six stages of project execution, including drawing, design, simulation, estimation, tendering, construction management, and commissioning. Career highlights include managing the drawing office responsible for designing the world’s largest cane diffuser and the world’s first triple calandria vertical white sugar continuous vacuum pan—both of which were manufactured and installed internationally. He also led the design of a factory expansion incorporating a back-end white sugar refinery onto an existing brown sugar mill, involving the design of critical process equipment such as conditioning silos, conveyors, batch pans, strike receivers, and a boiler scrubber, among others.

 

His extensive project portfolio also includes work on pressure vessels, tanks, gantry cranes, boiler stacks, conveyors, and structural and civil projects. A key achievement was successfully managing the demolition of two large boilers in a live factory environment, requiring precise coordination.

 

Amith holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and is an Associate Member of the South African Institute of Draughting (Reg. A220044), affiliated with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). He is proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Smart P&ID, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, FEA Simulation, and 3D point cloud scanning (LIDAR, Geoslam). Additionally, Amith is skilled in interpreting design codes such as TEMA, ASME, and API650. His academic qualifications include a non-thesis MBA and a certification in geospatial engineering.

 

Known for his attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to meeting deadlines, Amith takes pride in delivering every project on time and within budget while maintaining high ethical standards. Always open to new collaborations, he believes that his ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects has been key to his success. Outside of work, Amith enjoys spending time with his family, writing, and indulging in his passion for classic cars and Formula 1, interests that help him unwind while nurturing his creative and mechanical inclinations.

Mohamed Bayat is a highly skilled and experienced multidisciplinary mechanical design draughtsman with over 11 years of expertise spanning the sugar, petrochemical, and manufacturing industries. Certified in the Autodesk Design Suite and Siemens Solid Edge, Mohamed is proficient in utilizing advanced tools, including 3D scanning technology, to deliver precise and innovative design solutions.

 

With a specialization in shop detailing, structural, and fabrication drawings, Mohamed excels at transforming complex engineering concepts into clear, accurate, and actionable designs. His expertise in 3D modeling software enables him to effectively bring ideas to life while ensuring seamless collaboration between design, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
